Oceanside Elegance
This was a really interesting project, notably because of the challenges it offered. The site was triangle shaped and on a busy street. It lacked a neighbourhood feel and the best sun, and the most rational outdoor space was in the front yard. We were able to design a house to take advantage of this southwest front yard, creating a courtyard with concrete wall structures and orienting if for outdoor living. This solved the problem of the lack of neighbourhood feel by creating a private escape. The interiors were upscale, but still intimate. Attention to detail was key: the kitchen window extends to the countertop, detail within the porcelain bullnose and mitered corners on the backsplash, as well as the wainscotting and custom newel post. It was a really interesting project!
